Description
Rugged adventure 4x4 camper van built for real off road trips. Silver and grey two-tone exterior with a Sportsmobile pop-top roof and interior conversion with a front-mounted spare tire, heavy-duty brush guard, and side steps. The roof is equipped with two solar panels and a side-mounted retractable awning. The undercarriage has a solid axle 4x4 conversion with leaf spring suspension. The interior includes grey leather captain's chairs, a kitchen with a fridge & sink, storage drawers and cabinets, water tanks and a propane tank. 5.8 L V8 Windsor motor and an E 40 D Transmision. The new engine came from SNJ engines. Here’s their website check them out sandengines.com. Here’s the story of the van. We bought it about 10 years ago when we lived in Atlanta, Georgia. We then moved to Half Moon Bay. Unfortunately, the van broke down on its way across the country with transmission problems in Texas. We replaced the transmission and continued the drive. Made it within 100 miles of SF and the torque converter in the transmission expanded pushing the driveshaft forward wearing out the the thrust washer, causing the engine to fail. The first winter we were here I ended up buying a newer Sportsmobile with plans on putting a new engine in this one. Three years ago finally got around to the new engine, but it’s still sat for a very long time allowing the salt air to destroy the front windshield frame and rust out completely. The windshield framing needs to be completely rebuilt. But this is a great platform for your dream adventure van! Title in hand, but it never got registered in California, still has Georgia plates and title. Please contact me with your questions with of your questions.
