Description
1998 Ford E350 Econoline Cutaway, diesel dually 84in cab to axle.White e-series cab on chassis, 63in Peterbilt low profile sleeper cab and a 4.5ft long 8ft wide wooden flatbed.7.3 Powerstroke engine. 283k on the odometer. It runs very well, no mechanical issues, leaks a little oil, gets 16mpg with no load and 13mpg while hauling. It has straight piped 4in exhaust, two 2021 Motorcraft max start 850cca batteries, new gates serpentine belt, new power steering pump, new vacuum pump, new glow plug relay, new fuel filler tube, new fuel bowl filter, fresh oil and filter, and a plum full 45 gallon factory fuel tank.I took the VanPig in to have the new taillights wired (as well as some other repairs), and I had my mechanic service the automatic transmission, check it out and top it off. It got a clean bill of health, and it shifts just fine. Cruise control works perfect. The front suspension bushings were shot when I bought it, so I installed new Prothane bushings in the front control arms and sway bar. It was not equipped from the factory with a steering stabilizer strut, so I installed a Bilstein strut and some oem mounting hardware. She drives straight and smooth, but I think it could still benefit from an alignment. Its got six new wheels and tires. Wheels are dually Dorman oem replacements, painted gloss grey. I have not had it aligned since mounting the new tires, but you should. The wheels and tires probably have 500 miles on them. When I got the VanPig, the front brakes/hubs were not dually hubs, so I used that excuse to install new rotors, wheel bearings and pads. I also had a trailer brake controller and wiring installed, for the bumper hitch and in the goose pocket. The van interior is in excellent condition, with a new dashmat, floormats, seat covers and a new 2024 center console. Heat blows hot, and the A/C blows very cold. The sleeper cab interior has been gutted and remodeled. Gone is the factory Peterbilt trucker bunk setup, and in its place is a cute little dancefloor. I installed laminate (pergo) flooring, and used masonite sheeting for wall covering and ripped 1x6's for trimwork."The Breach", or so I call the portion where the cab and sleeper make contact, was a leaky mess when I got the truck. I used tar backed window flashing to seal the outside, but didn't think to strip off the foil reflective outer flashing cover. So she's lookin more hillbilly than she ought to. I've planned on waiting for the weather to get sunny and hot, so I can strip off what's there, and put down more flashing, without the shiny look. But she keeps out 100% of the rain, as is.On the inside, the breach has a soft colorful padding around the edges. I used sarape saddle blankets, and padding underneath in case you bang your head. She comes equipped with a 2 and 5/16 gooseneck ball, side boxes, 50 gal diesel transfer tank with dedicated battery, potato smasher mad max front push bumper and some trailer rigging. The story of how I acquired this pig is long and spicy, as is the story of all the work I've done to her. She's set up like a hotshot hauler, ready to hook up to your flatbed, car hauler, horse trailer or adapt to your fifth wheel. Guys put these rigs together for the benefit of the light weight, high tow capacity and low gvwr. Try and find another rig lower in price, with this kind of towing ability in which you can sleep comfortably. I'm including a XL Cabelas folding cot (sleeps two), perfect sized memory foam mattress, brand new heated blanket and an inverter to power 110v chargers, blankets, lights, etc.The left blinker inside the gauge cluster is burned out, no stereo, she's ugly, smelly, leaky and loud. Other than that, she's got no issues.Carfax report included. I'm the third owner. The first owner was probably a government entity in North Carolina, because they maintained the HECK out of it until late 2005 and 230,xxx miles. I bought it in 2023 with 281k on it. So the crazy guy who sold it to me only put 50k on it in 18ish years. I'll explain the story of the purchase of the rig when you come to test drive her. It's a scorcher.$7000 negotiable. Come out with cash and talk me down. I've got a hand written list of all of my cost and parts installed. Entertaining trades for other cars/trucks, gooseneck trailer, built tiny home, classic cars... Let me know what you've got.
