**2000 Chevrolet Silverado Work Truck**I’ve owned this truck since 2012 (bought it from the original owner - my friend’s dad). It had just over 200k miles when I got it, mostly highway miles from long drives between Redding and San Diego. It’s been a very dependable truck ever since.**The Good:*** Clean title* Consistently maintained (oil changes, transmission service, brakes, etc.)* Brand new battery (April 2026)* Transmission rebuilt at 280k miles* Radiator replaced (2020)* Water pump replaced (2021)* Starter replaced (2023)* Brakes replaced (2023)* Tires replaced in 2022 - still 70%+ tread (low usage)* A/C blows cold* 5.3L Vortec V8 engine that runs strong (always has)* Lumber racks - great for hauling 20+ft of materials* Double DIN Kenwood DVD head unit (wired for upgraded sound system)**The Not-So-Good:*** Recently rear ended in a hit & run while parked (rear left damage - cosmetic, still drives fine)* Gas gauge is inconsistent (common issue - it likes being filled up, you’ll learn its quirks)* Radio recently stopped working (likely a fuse, haven’t tracked it down yet)* Peeling paint* Loud exhaust* 2WD* No tow packageThis has been a solid, beyond reliable truck for me and my family and still has plenty of life left.
