Under the hood, the 4.6L 3V EFI V8 runs on gasoline and brings that classic eight-cylinder confidencewhether youre cruising across town or rolling out with a trailer in tow, helped by trailer sway control and a smart, capless Easy Fuel fill system.Driving the Ford F150 Super CabFord is so proud of the F-150s payload and towing capabilities that it might be natural to assume the 2010 version would ride like a truck. The surprising news is it doesnt. Instead, each and every version of the F-150 weve driven offered exceptional ride quality no shudders, hops or hiccups and a level of quiet that was startling. Each version also offered ample power, good acceleration and a level of steering feel and control that belied its size and heft. Perhaps most impressive was the towing demonstration in which we hauled 20-foot trailers with absolutely zero drama, thanks in large part to the pickups trailer sway control, rearview camera and integrated trailer brake controller, a segment first. Our off-road excursions in the well-equipped four-by-four versions of the truck demonstrated it has the goods to get it done in muck and mire as well.Out back, the 6.5' pickup box is built to be used, with tie-down hooks, tough stone cuffs, and a cargo lamp integrated into the high-mount stop light for late-night loading. The removable, lockable tailgate with lift assist makes it easy to switch from hauling duty to driveway projects. On the road, youll appreciate the composed feel from the long-spindle double wishbone front suspension and leaf-spring rear setup, plus power rack & pinion steering and confident power disc brakes. Rear-wheel drive keeps the classic truck stance and feel.Inside, its straightforward and comfortable with a 60/40 flip-up rear bench, tilt steering, manual A/C, and a driver-focused gauge cluster with a message display center for key info.Safety is well-covered with ABS, AdvancTrac with roll stability control, multiple airbags, tire pressure monitoring, and post-crash alert.
